Peebles Annual Walk

Rob and Val organised the Pelandaba walk for Sunday 7 October, a little later this year because of other Pelandaba events elsewhere. The walk was a circular 9 mile trek through forests and up hills surrounding Traquair Estate. The weather was inclement, but still 18 brave souls turned out to support the orphans. The usual lunch was provided and served by Val and Nora from Rob's caravan strategically parked half way. The first part was through the forest, so mainly out of the wind. The afternoon session had spectacular views, but was more affected by wind. The walkers returned to a delicious tea at the Traquair Hall Carpark just as the drizzle started! We were lucky! An amazing £880 was raised. Many people in the Peebles area donate even if they don't walk. So the whole weekend raised about £1400. Dr Rosie Jones raised an extra £120 through sales of eggs and plants. Thank you so much to many friends in Peebles for their donations and baking contributions to the lunch and teas.
